Best Buddies and Teen Leadership
groups at various schools in Katy
ISD participated in "Pennies for
Presents". Students did an
awesome job of collecting spare
change during lunch time to be
donated to the "CAM Christmas"
project. In addition a large group
of Carrie's Heart supporters made
individual donations to the project.
"CAM Christmas" is an annual
holiday party complete with Santa
and Mrs. Claus held at Centro de
Atencion Multiple, a special
education school in Playa del
Carmen, Mexico. Carrie's Heart
joined with Angel Notion on this
annual event collecting donations
and coordinating the event.
Christmas all around you...watching
the children beginning to gather,
waiting anxiously for their name to
be called, cheering as their friends
names were called and their faces
full of joy (and some tears!) when
they finally got their turn to sit on
Santa's lap! It was a day that I will
never forget!
